Three Years and 2.5 kids later...

Today is the last day of the year.
This morning Casey and I have been officially married 3 years.
My family always made a comment about how I moved to Utah to come home with a person each year.
This year sadly we had 2 miscarriages. The first one I was due Christmas Eve.
This year has been our toughest.
The most challenging in so many ways.
But we had some great times as well.
The last two years we spent in Texas but for many reasons we did not go home this year.
So we decided to celebrate it by taking Eliana to see the Christmas lights in Salt Lake City.
Liam stayed home with Uncle Austin, who by the way is awesome.
Before seeing the lights we ate some Red Iguana.
Yummy...
Then we walked to Temple Square.
We took a single stroller but figured Eliana would want to walk.
Sure enough she kept saying "Follow me!" and would ask to stand somewhere and strike a pose.

Here she was asking daddy why he was green...

She loves green. So when she saw the green lit up bush she yelled "GREEN! I LOVE IT!! TOO BIG!"

Our three year anniversary could not have been any better!

Christmas!

This Christmas has not been feeling like Christmas.
There has just been too much going on around the house.
I was getting ready to just give up and put away the tree or just sell it.
But there was no way that we could let such a wonderful holiday go to waste.
A couple of nights before Christmas we finally took out our ginger bread train and built it.

Eliana was so excited and eager to help.

 She was so concentrated.

Christmas Eve we dressed them in their Christmas PJs and took some pictures by the tree.

Chrsitmas morning Eliana woke up earlier than usual.
It's like she knew what was waiting for her under the tree.

She was not about to let go of that present.
Not even for breakfast.

She even excited for Liam and picked up one of his gifts and handed it to him.

He was also concentrated on trying to open it.

We had some yummy breakfast.

And for Christmas dinner we had some yummy pork chops and beans with Mexican rice.

It was indeed a great Christmas, even though we wish we would have celebrated with a lot more family.
Next year.

Baby On Board!!!

Let me start off with a couple of things.
Before I was married, for many years I struggled with things.
My mothers main concern was that I would struggle like her.
She had 3 children.
The last one she prayed very hard for.
During her 2nd pregnancy (I was 2 years old) she was diagnosed with a tumor.
In order to save her and the baby, the baby had to be removed.
4 years passed before she had her beautiful boy.
She was told she could no longer have babies.
After lots of praying she was able to have one more before she had her baby home removed.

Through out my teen years I struggled to the point where we weren't sure I would be able to bear any children, or at least not very many.
When Casey and I talked about getting married.
You know after I actually allowed talk about it.
I told him I would be getting married only if children were in the plan.
Even though, I wasn't even sure if it was possible.

My mom works the energy and for the month before our wedding she did what she could to try to help me.
During that time I prayed to the Lord that he would allow me to have at least one child.
If I would be able to have one I would do nothing to prevent having another one.
I would let him decide what the time was right for me to have another one.
I also promised that if he lend me little angels I would take care of them no matter what trials came with them.

When Eliana was born the Doctors flooded me with information on all kinds of birth control like they do with all the ladies.
But the promise I made ran through my head as well as who even knows if I could have another one.
May be I got lucky.
Skip ahead and three months later I was pregnant with Liam.

After two miscarriages we are now expecting a little Mr. once again.

My children may be rowdy.
They may not be as still as other children.
They are still babies, so they are pretty loud.
But they are a blessing.

With every pregnancy I still fear the worst.
My health, because of my mom's history.
Their health, especially with Liam's history.

I am not in any competition with anyone.
I am not trying to pop a kid every year.
I have always dreamed of a big family.
Kids of all ages running around.
Maybe a dozen kids.
I may not be the best mom or an expert but I love them.
I wanted them here.
And we are sooooo excited to have another little man.
Boys watch out, Eliana will be having 2 bodyguards soon.

So this one goes out to the ones who told me
"Wait 6 years or so..."
"Oh! You have a boy and a girl?! That's perfect! Now you can stop!"
Nope.
Sorry.

Call me crazy.
Call me weird but I love little hands and feet and hearing the steps they take running around.
The loud yells.
The potty breaks I take advantage of and just sit there sometimes and wait and time how long it takes before I am interrupted.
The funny things they say.
Moments I dreamed of but feared would not be possible.

So today we have an ultrasound.
Eliana was so excited she kept saying "You see da baby?!"
Liam was just snoring in his car seat in a corner.
He wasn't too thrilled.
Heart sounded beautiful.
He is such a mover.
But really our other two are the same way.
They keep me on my toes until Casey makes it home.
He was showing us his beautiful spine, as you can see so clearly.
This was only a gender check.
The anatomy ultrasound is in 5 weeks.
He was tumbling and rolling like it was no ones business.
I must say I was surprised.
I thought it was going to be a girl.
And I was hoping it would be a girl so Eliana had a sister.
I always wanted one.
Either way we already love the little man.
Liam was the least thrilled.
He took the sonogram and did everything he could to it.
After throwing it off to the side he was so pleased with his work.
Eliana was so excited though.
She didn't want to let go even though I am sure she couldn't tell what it was.
The only thing now is thinking of names.
I am open to suggestions.
So hard to find a name both families can pronounce.

I know some people have messaged me and asked several questions.
Here are a few answers.

-Nausea:
Uy! I have never been so sick in my life. The worst part. I would not and could not puke. It was not on my agenda. So lots of snacking!

-Clothes:
I haven't worn my pre-preg clothes since before Eliana so I pretty much went straight to maternity pants. Even when I wasn't pregnant (which if you are asking has only been about 8 months of my nearly 3 years married life) I still wore my maternity pants and yoga pants. They are just comfortable and no zipper. Just pull up.

-Cravings:
I actually have a list somewhere but the most thing I have craved like crazy is Wendy's #6 Spicy Chicken Sandwich and uncaffinated Pepsi.

-Weight:
I gained about 5 lbs the first 3 months but apparently I lost 3 in the last month. It's fine with me if I just stay in the weight throughout the pregnancy but we will see. The midwive actually questioned if I was throwing up. Nope.

-How far?:
I am just under 4 months. I am due June 1 2014. I didn't know when I got pregnant so we had to have an ultrasound. I was thinking I was more of due May 22. But they measured June 1. But with my last two kids I was told they were measuring a week smaller. So really I wouldn't be surprised if he is too. Either way I am due sometime around those dates.

We also have other news but that will wait until we get an actual answer! Until then, farewell my friends and family!

With love,
The Crasey Callisons

Thanksgiving Break

Crazy busy past couple of weeks.
First off, poor Liam.
We didn't celebrate his birthday on his birthday.
Instead we spent that entire weekend moving.
We still had til the end of November but I wanted to get out asap.
We were still busy with a couple of appointments but nothing too bad.

The best and most exciting part about the Thanksgiving break was having family over.
I have way too many pictures.
It was hard to decide what to use.
Didn't want to overwhelm ya'll.
I will say though, we did just move so there will be boxes and things everywhere.
Please excuse them.

They got in on a Sunday.
The 24th, of November of course.
I was so sick Casey had to take Eliana with him to the airport.
I could barely get out of bed to shower before they arrived.
Up until Thanksgiving Eliana and I were pretty sick.
Those nights were not the most fun for her.
But we were most excited about the fact that our new place is about double the size of our old.
So plenty of space for people.
My brothers stayed in our basement while my parents stayed in the kids bedroom.
The kids stayed in ours.
The plan was Casey and I would be able to go out dates.
Did not happen.
Even once.
People sick.
Things to fix.
Appointments and others.
Shopping was as close as it got.

Anyways.
Thanksgiving finally came.
Casey is an awesome cook so he made Thanksgiving dinner.
It was just nice to have family.
My mom has been  with us every Thanksgiving since we moved to Utah
I couldn't let her miss out this year.
It was a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.

November 30
Last day of November we put up our small and adorable Christmas Tree.
Casey thought it would be a great idea if we put up the tree before my family left.
My dad came up with another idea and said we should go ahead and celebrate Christmas together.
To which my mom added the idea to do it as a Family Home Evening on Monday.
 Why yes.
Eliana asked to wear a "Princess" dress and Liam's Ninja Turtle Pjs

Sunday December 1
We finally celebrated little man's birthday party.
Before and after that we spent time with other family.
My mom's cousin had a baby blessing which we attended and then lunch after wards.
After Liam's birthday cake we went to my aunt's house and spent some time with her family.
Eliana was so excited to eat chocolate cake.
She was getting a little frustrated but she finally had her piece.
But of course, not before singing Happy Birthday to him.
Guitar and all.
Look at that handsome little man.

The next day, while Mom and I were with Liam
Eliana came running.
Her face was just smeared with chocolate.
She had scooted the chair out, climbed on and did this to the rest of Liam's cake.

Yep...

On Monday we celebrated Christmas
We exchanged gifts.
That was mainly what happened.
It was really late and the kids were not in a very good mood.
At least not until cookie decorating and one was put to bed.
We decorated and ate cookies and had a very delicious punch.
One that reminds me of my grandmother from Mexico.
The gift exchange was great because we apparently gave my family exactly what they liked and wanted.
We were thrilled about that.
It was too bad we weren't able to make the traditional program of singing 'til late and Santa Clause and the live nativity scene.
Next time.
It was still a wonderful thing we had family to celebrate it early with.

On my family's last night in town it snowed so we went out and took some great pictures.
Our new backyard is lovely so we got some pretty pictures.

I am going to miss them so much.
I missed them as soon as the entire house was quiet.
Liam loved Tio Cristian
Eliana loved Tio Titere
She ran after him yelling "Tio!" "Tio Titite" "Tio Teteri" "Tio Tatata"
She also yelled "Cristian!" "Chacha!" "Grandpa!"
I think Eliana enjoyed having her uncles to follow and just baby her.
She was also demanding, especially to Cristian.
She would tell him "Sit! Sit on da couch!!" "No, don't care him!" (meaning not to pick her up)
Hopefully it isn't too long before the next time we get to see them.
